Education

California in the past has produced a highly educated and well trained work force. To continue to expand the economy, California must once again have the best public schools. Control of schools has shifted from local school districts to a central system in Sacramento.  Local school boards are greatly affected by decisions made in Sacramento.  Control of public schools must be returned to the local level.  Locally elected school boards have a better understanding of the needs of both the parents and students in their district.  By returning the local control of money to individual school districts, accountability will improve.  By returning the money directly, as opposed to going through Sacramento, school facilities will now receive the proper allocation of resources.

Colleges and Universities must start producing more engineering and medical degrees to meet the demands of a changing tomorrow.  California needs to wisely increase its investment in education and research.
